september spree @ F21

It was a Labor Day 10% off of entire purchase email that got me. I was just too weak to resist the call of a good deal. Anyways, this spree consists of 8 items. Seven were from one purchase and the last one was a quickie get and is part of my sister's F21 order. Let's itemize the stuff that went on my credit card first.

I was just looking around the site with no intention to buy. I did realize that I had just gotten my latest stuff from the previous F21 purchase (which I love, love, love, btw) and had just bought 4 pairs of shoes and a handbag to boot. And I was close to making it through sans purchase. But then my sis, who was also going through the site, went and convinced me that I would totally rock this duster cardigan:

Coincidentally, I had been eyeing the entire ensemble in this pic. I was particularly enamored by the skirt. Aesthetically, the maxi skirt appears to have a sari-style fabric/pattern and I love the color combo on it - I am in a total orangey, blush phase as can be seen from recent past purchases (this is oxymoronic :D). The overall look with the pleating (could be the styling due to the belt) gives it a very boho chic feel which I love - I would say my fashion sensibilities run along a bohemian chic kinda path. Plus, it comes with a skinny camel belt. I happen to love getting two things for one price!

Now the original thing I actually had in my cart, and it really was rather negligible, was this floral engraved ID case.

I needed a new one since the current one I am using is all banged up and looks totally unprofessional anyway. I like the "slim cigarette case" look. Lol, I don't smoke so I guess having a case that appears like a cigarette case will do. It has a classic feel to it. I'm rather into vintage-y feels as of this moment.

I have been looking for another denim shirt to add to the one I got from Topshop 2/3 years ago. This time around I wanted one in a darker denim hue. I had already scoped out Topshop but with no luck and had been eyeing a few choices from F21. However, I suspect that the shirts were not truly equivalent to my Topshop shirt, which is still fine and dandy and in constant rotation btw, and a visit to a local F21 during my recent trip Homeland confirmed this. So, instead, I decided to go for this Love 21 belted denim shirtdress. The length is similar to my Topshop shirt and although I'm initially ambivalent about the pleating/ruching at the waist, covered up by the belt, it doesn't look too obvious. I guess I will just have to wear this with a belt all the time if the ruching truly bothers me when I see it in the flesh.

Also in this purchase was F21's famous skinny jeans. I have heard a lot of good things about the F21 skinnies but have never really had an opportunity to get them online. I was actually hankering after the flare jeans but since there were none in my size, I decided to give the skinnies a try. I got them in black. I hope they fit great. I think they might be a tad long so I might have them hemmed. We'll have to see in person if I can get away with rolling them up alone :)

Next is this totally cute peacock brooch. I saw it, loved it, got it. I don't particularly have much to say about it. I just loved it on sight and with no hesitation, decided to get it.

And last but not least from my personal haul is this striped woven top. In hindsight, I think I have a similar top from the Miley Cyrus Max Azria Walmart collection I got the year before but at the time of purchase I needed something that would push my purchase total to over 100 bucks so I could qualify for the 10% discount. Hence, striped woven top it is! The difference between this top and the one I already own - the color and the cut. The top I already have is black and white, this is more ivory and white and the cut of this shirt is going to be more form fitting than the one I have. So there's that. Anyways, you can't have too many striped apparel in your closet, can you?

My total came up to a lil over 102 dollars. I'm okay with that. It's the biggest amount I've spent on the site to date. I'd have to say that my experience with F21 online has been very pleasurable - the stuff I've gotten I have been more than happy with and with each purchase, I always end up being more thrilled than the last. Perhaps, I'm getting better at picking the stuff so that's why.

Oh and the quickie purchase I made via my sister's account was this gorgeous chiffon belted maxi dress in the shade amber. It was just $15.50 (or was it $15.80?) and I fell in love with it on sight. I didn't get it with my own purchase cos I had completed the order the night before this arrived in their online inventory. Since my sis was also looking to getting some stuff, I figured I'd slip this dress in. She was even convinced to get one of her own in black.

I could possibly be getting my stuff sometime next week when I go back to Homeland on Monday after the Linkin Park/F1 do (WOOHOO!). Except for the dress cos that was sent to my sister's friend's addy so that she wouldn't have to pay international shipping charges. The dress will most likely get to Homeland in either November or December, depending on when sister's friend returns. I better maintain my body shape so that I can still fit into the dress in the size that I bought in 3 months' time, hehehe :D
