watching.....Letters To Juliet

My first thought at the end of this movie was, "Awwwwww, so sweet". I liked it, I like how sweetly romantic it was. It was just a feel good movie all around.

I'll admit I like Amanda Seyfried ever since she was in Veronica Mars. In her role as Sophie, she sold it to me. She was touched by this long forgotten letter and wrote back a heartfelt reply. A reply that basically conveyed what she wanted in her own relationship. It signified all that was lacking between Victor and herself.

The letter finds its way to England and when its recepient, Claire, receives it, she responds by coming over to Verona to search out long lost love Lorenzo. She brings along with her a reluctant and surly companion, her grandson, Charlie. At this point, from the moment Charlie and Sophie meet, the back and forth word spars being traded between them, you know they will end up together by the end - fiance Victor be damned. You could even figure that Claire will find her Lorenzo and that Lorenzo and Claire's union after 50 years apart would bring about the union of Charlie and Sophie.

And as predictable as the movie was, it still came off as a completely enjoyable film. Happy endings all around - well aside from Victor who got dumped but he's completely obsessed with his restaurant so he'll be okay. Letters To Juliet was a story worth telling.
